Because of the Trump administration tarrifs Phantom Fireworks has announced it's pausing production at it's factories in China. I wonder if other U.S. importers will follow.
On a side note, I was just at Phantom the other day and noticed it has replaced the firecracker report in their Jumbo Whistling Wolf Pack Bottle Rockets with a crackle report. That's a bit disappointing and the loud whistle was nice on those.

Yes, other importers have stopped shipments and Phantom was not the first. At 145%, bringing in product at this point is going to result in a cost so high that It cannot be sold. Most importers who manager their supply correctly hold about a year's worth of inventory. I wouldn't expect any major shortages this season. The real risk is going to be 2026.

Why Firework Tariffs Don’t Bother Me

Let’s get this out of the way yes, the tariffs on fireworks are real, and yes, they’re inconvenient, but no they don’t bother me.

Why?

Tariffs come and go. They’re a political tool, not a permanent fixture. We’ve seen them before and we’ll see them again.

This one is temporary like all others.

I’ve already accounted for it in my 2025 and 2026 planning, and I’m not losing sleep over it at all.

Instead am not focusing on what I can’t control, I’m focusing on what I can do adjust, plan, and keep the show moving forward.

If I have to get a little creative in 2027, so be it. In fact, I’ve already started brainstorming some new approaches and sourcing ideas that could keep costs in check without sacrificing quality of the show.

At the end of the day, it’s about the experience we deliver!

The crowd doesn’t care about the behind-the-scenes tariffs. They care about the magic in the sky and that’s what I’m committed to delivering … tariff or not.
