Hi I've been doing amateur pyro for about going on 2 years now, and I'm accustomed with pretty much every flash there is. But what I'm looking for is to find the brightest flash possible for my salutes. I've heard magnesium-based flashes are the brightest but I'm not too sure. Does anyone know or have any experience with an extremely bright photo flash? It'd be awesome if someone could point me in the right direction thanks
Pat.

Some do look brighter than others. Not sure what makes them that way. I know they make some photo flash cakes that are pretty bright however the sound on them is weak. I recent watched a video on Facebook from another country. The guy made what look about the size of an M-80. They were torpedo crackers. He just threw them in the air and when they hit the ground they were very loud and had a bright flash to them. I should have tagged it to try to find it again.

During WWII, photoflash bombs used a mixture of magnesium powder and an oxidizer like potassium chlorate, to generate intense bursts of light for aerial photography at night.
