"yea, exactly move your position so you can actually get a perspective....."
no smart ass, I was firing remotely so I could be at an appropriate distance. and as I stated, 12 to 15" mortars showed...
i have done a fair amount of testing on the length thing. reason being, I have bought a bunch of the irregular tubes from pyroboom.
I wanted to see what length tube I could get away with or when it...
agreed, no different than purchasing more modules.
I did test this out:
purple perfect fuse is ~4.5 sec/ft. this is about the same speed as the green fuse used on consumer shells. this means if...
I agree, visco does not lite easily from the side. I use a cow hitch or larks head knot which gives a double strand contact to the main fuse. it gives a very nice clean run of fusing connections. if...
by july fourth I have to have 1400 visco shells fused for various racks.
I personally like the knot method best, it keeps the timing easy because the 4 sec per foot fuse of the shell has little...
Disclaimer:
Before I start let me state I do not want a safety lecture/reminder. I am very well aware of chemically what is inside these shells and the difference in them compared to a 1.4 and that...
well, at least that answers my question and I can stop waiting. I will go ahead and put my order in.
my wife always likes when a box of 50 mortars shows up.
thanks for the heads up
I just subscribed to the youtube channel an hour ago.
I have been looking for some kind of sale from pyroboom for a month or so. or at least something that might help with shipping.
I know I have...
how is this accomplished?
last year you had us enter the code "pyrotalk"
when I enter that code now it says it expired 12/1/2017
you can buy 1.2" DR9 HDPE mortars for them. i have bought a few for this purpose. pyroboom.com sells them (they are a sponsor so i suspect it is ok to single them out) they are pluggeg and ready to...
this really isn't a function of the milk crate itself. its more a function of any multi-row rack. it seems that most of the people on here that post against milk crate racks show a single row rock as...
when I open my confirmation email and click the "confirm your signature by clicking here" link nothing happens.
anyone else had this problem?
the crates i use are HDPE from rural king. they cost 5.99. the crate will sred and stretch just like the tube if there is ever a problem . the only real problem is if a center tube blows it could...
thank you for the confirmation.
i may join you on accepting a 2-3 percent failure rate.
i am looking to go up to 400 mortars next year and can't see myself cleaning them all.
i may do some...
my guess is all three shoots I did with them were after rain storms. humidity was horrible. when the tubes were hot after firing I could see the air inside saturating with more moisture since it was...
after using my new hdpe mortars this year I swabbed my finger on the inside and there is an black oily black substance coating the inside. I figured this was condensation that mixed with the black...
I shoot a 200 shell finale. about 120 good ball shells (a lot with tails) and 80 cans. this puts up almost a curtain of effect. the tails down low, the balls in the middle, and cans up high. it last...
tested premium ball shells today and they were with in 10% of each other on height. I would say it makes some difference, but nothing like I thought it would. it looks like a 10-20% reduction at...
so I received a shipment of 8 inch mine mortars with the intent of using them for just that, mines. however curiosity go the best of me.
I decided I wanted to see how much difference the shorter...
I like milk crates too. I use the cheapos from walmart for $3.50. I figure if something blows the light weight plastic doesn't have enough mass to carry very far. they are light to carry also.
I...
I like about 12 mighty minis fused together. I buy they by the case for 90 cents/per. I fues them in fours and light them a couple seconds apart. its a nice start to finale
to the chemical engineer question: yes I have a master of chemical engineering degree, but I list that more as back ground to how I am "wound" and that I am not just dumping powder on a scale (and...
i almost always disect a new shell when i buy them. i measure lift charges, flash, and effect. i also make notes about construction differences that may affect performance.
is there any interest...
just came on board.
been looking in on site for some time and use some of the sponsors already.
just made a trip to little china in Leitchfield, ky. real nice people.
