Ematch is still regulated per MJG. Sorry I brought it up. Moderator can delete the thread.
I’m checking with MJG, an ematch manufacturer to find out. Standby.
Someone on YouTube said ematch is no longer regulated by ATF. I believe they are mistaken. Maybe they were referencing FireWire. Has anyone heard anything about this? I’m skeptical.

Doesn’t matter why, you just cannot rely on consumer cake timing, period. This is why I step script all my shows. Put four identical cakes on 4 stations and fire them on one cue. They won’t sync at...
Get your ATF 54 and a Texas pyro license and then get 1.3G 3" shells. They are cheaper than a NOAB. And easy to match! Getting those two licenses is fairly easy...
I have sourced them from Fireworks Forever and also Little China (also called Nite Lite) in the past.
What distributor?
I like the paper disc because it's easy to poke and put a match in there. But it seems we should take a quick peek at all of them to be sure we don't have this issue of the spilled lift. I would take...
You don't need any special licensing to get 1.4 pro product. You need a firing system that can fire off an ematch (ATF license needed) or a Firewire initiator (any consumer can buy it without a...
A rural golf course driving range sometimes, no clean up needed if I don’t use foil, and remove the tops off the cakes. A friends ranch sometimes. A big open field behind a friends restaurant...
I’m in a group buy with Spirit at the special pricing level every year. We order in December or January, but this coming order, I’m out… Unless by some miracle prices come down.
I have done this before, purely for a project. It works. We have such easy access to HDPE and fiberglass mortars there’s no real need, but if you want to play around with it, here’s how: ...
What’s the least important thing in the world to spend money on?
Was that shot off a bridge or a dam or something?
Slices are through the roof. A fan cake is just a box of slices. If you made a cake out of 5 slices it would be over $100.00! I think I'm just going individually match rows of select fan cakes to use...
$10 a shot for a NOAB. Glad I can shoot 1.3 3” shells!
Nothing fires me up like Jimi, that was knocking me out, man!! Great "fire" hits, especially those gas bombs. I can't tell you how much I loved that segment. Just superb.
And oh by the way, very nice show!!
I never time script 1.4, you can't rely on cake timing. By step scripting it you retain 100% control over the sky. Now of course that will not work for a pyromusical but for a show without music. But...
It went out to the entire list I'm sure because I got a number of those emails myself with all the "rules"!
And now I see Spirit of 76 has shut down all web sales also. So it's not Fireworks Forever being jerks, it's a serious industry wide problem.
Smoke is worse with less wind to blow it away, worse if the wind blows toward the audience, worse with cakes. The best wind is a light wind blowing away from the audience. If only we could control...
Well WFBoom is also closing down all web sales, UFN. It’s a unique year and situation that’s out of the control of our wholesalers. Pricing and supply have been wildly unpredictable from China. So...
