I had 7 cakes not fire [ 6 of them due to internal fusing] out of 200. That doesn't sound too bad, but I usually only have 1 or 2.
Birdman..you're right on track with the caulking idea. Get yourself the cheapest acrylic latex caulk you can find and stick those cakes down. It doesn't take much; just four
dime sized blobs at...
I'd rather not say. I don't want to hurt this vendors business.
I still don't know. Apparently, wooden racks bounce like some on here say milk crates do.
This rack was purchased from a well-respected on-line vendor. It had a large footprint and
still it tipped....
Milk crate racks are great! Lighter, simpler, safer than a wooden rack. Fits 25 mortars snugly
and with 3/4" plywood in the bottom there is no bouncing or rocking. Very stable.
I've used milk...
This! If they really have a gram and a half, light em with a big grin on your face!
This is just common sense. Once a year purchasers might not care what they shoot into the sky, but if you're doing
a show you want to know the effects. No video_ _ _no purchase.
I also do it like you guys but don't cover or tape down the fuse. Have never had a spark caused mis/pre fire in the 25 years I've been doing this.
For this years show I had 28 boards and 15 mortar...
Through the years, I've transported my pre-fused racks in a pick up, a van and the last few years in a friends
20 foot race car trailer because my show has gotten so big.
I used to cross state...
I've been transporting pre-fused racks for over 20 years. Never a problem. Of course you have to keep them upright, but that's easy.
Thank you.
When I was a kid firecrackers were noticeably louder. I know today they're
limited to 50 mg of flash, but how much was packed into Black Cats and
Thunder Bombs in the 60's and 70's?
