The comments on my other strobe post pushed me over the edge and I looked into the DMX on Cobra to go full RGB. Being a former Christmas light animator I wanted to use all the tools I used to create animated Christmas light displays to control the lighting. I found a solution that uses the base Cobra system (need SMPTE option but no need for 36M or 72M modules), Falcon Player (https://falconchristmas.com/) running on a Raspberry Pi connected to both the 18R2 via SMPTE and the E1.31 DMX wireless network via ethernet to a wireless router. Audio is provided through the Audiobox with both stereo channels being available since SPMTE is routed through the Falcon Player on the RPi to the 18R2 SMPTE interface.

Summary of what I got working:

Cobra 18R2 with SMPTE option
Any Cobra firing module (don't need 36M or 72M)
Audiobox with audio
Falcon Player (DMX Player with SMPTE output) running on Raspberry Pi

SMPTE from audio output to the 18R2

You don't need the SMPTE plugin for the Falcon Player software to do this. Only need the SMPTE audio to play out of the Falcon Player

E1.31 from Falcon Player (wired ethernet) to wireless ethernet (buttload of universes depending on configuration)
My new improved battery powered 3000 lumen RGB pixel with wireless. 31W consumed at full brightness.

Fan cooled (in case LEDs are on for extended times)

Also keeps the lens cool - Air pulled from vents near vent, through center fan, and out over LED heat sinks.

10V to 36V DC input

Needs to provide 31+W for entirety of show.

5" x 5" x 5" footprint

Hollow base for weighting during those monsoon winds

Weather hardened (water can get inside but it runs right out the bottom of the vent holes and won't contact the electronics)

Waiting for the PCBs to come back from manufacturing to try it out. Housing is being 3D printed. Say goodbye to my filament inventory.

Thanks for the abuse on this year's lighting attempt! It motivated to get busy on this next generation lighting.

Next year is going to be a blast to work on with these things.
