found two full boxes of Big Bang Brand Super-Charged 2in Flash Salutes ( made in Macau), and one partially full box Silver Tube Salutes by United Fireworks MFG. Co. in Dayton, OH. (these are red and look like what we used to call M-80?S. It appears from some research that the vintage empty boxes have value, but I don?t even know if their contents are legal for sure, and where you would market them. Any help or information deeply appreciated.

I would be interested in these if you come up with a price. I have no idea what they are worth. Are these in PA (within driving distance), if not shipping could be a problem. I have seen one's like the red ones before way back when but don't know if they are the same brand. The "Half Gross" on the box leads me to believe they are the real deal as this is how I used to see them sold, by the half or full gross. I will do some looking into this. Thanks for the share.

If anyone on here should obtain these, be careful if you intend to fire them off. See the mold and the expanded calcium/silicate end plugs on the M-80's? An indication of being stored in a damp place, which could cause changes in the rate of burn of the fuses, especially the paper fuses on the 2" salutes. Add another length of visco if you're going to "test" them.

I found something about this two firecrackers, the first one "BIG BANG", I don't found the exactly same one, but I found a similar one. They looks the same with different packing, you can found the picture of BIG BANG in this website: http://www.crackerpacks.com/ in Class 1-2 labels, this websites seems to be a personal label collection site, I am not sure the owner will know the price or not, you may check it out by sending him an email, crackerpacks@gmail.com. The second one I did found the same one, looks like it's on sale, but to see the price, membership of that site is required:https://www.marks4antiques.com/apa/Lot-of-3-Boxes-Of-Salutes-Includes-1cb020. Hope the things I found is useful to you, have a nice day~

I am not a firecracker collector. To me these in curent condition are 50 to 70 dollars total. Anyone else have an opinion on price.

Both items fairly common, but I think would sell for a bit more. Perhaps $150.

At halk , thank you for saying that. I told him these items are "Common" . I used that exact word. He went on to tell me he saw different on a site called Worthpoint which is apparently a site that monitors what sells for what price on EBay. I get these emails from time to time , someone dies or goes to a nursing home and the family finds some old M-80's and thinks they found a college education fund in value. I suggested he sell them for whatever locally to get rid of them. I went on to explain about restrictions on shipping the ATF Etc. I told him his best bet is to sell locally to a collector. If someone from Decatur Indiana emails me , I'll pass the information along. I also gave him a link to this thread to follow along if he wishes. He prefers to remain anonymous and I can honor that.

Seller emailed me and said he is going to destroy the contents and just sell the empty boxes for legal reasons. He still thinks those boxes are worth something? I remember years ago someone from Millers Fireworks in Ohio told me those old M-80 boxes were scatter everywhere as remnants from back in the day. Now, I suspect someone will get one of those old boxes and make new M-80's and try to sell them as New Old Stock.

He should also be aware that the condition of these items is poor.

I told him that and got mad. He also got mad when I told him these are common. Lol ... if you really think about it M 80s were made by the millions over the years. It's a relatively simple device that can easily be replicated. How much can 20 or so be worth. That is why I gave him this thread link to read.

Antique Roadshow of Fireworks, just because its old doesn't mean its valuable

Don't mind seeing the tube salutes destroyed, but hate to see those old 2" go. They are almost impossible to replicate, even if one could obtain the proper papers, inks, and printing plates.
