When you load this shell next time I bet you will think of a "Boys Haricut"

Kamuro

Kamuro is a Japanese word meaning "Boys Haircut" which is what this shell looks like when fully exploded in the air. A dense burst of glittering silver or gold stars which leave a heavy glitter trail and are very shiny in the night's sky.

That looked awesome, I would love to get my hands on some of them. Do they sell them in the states? What size shell was that?

A Kamuro shell is usually a large caliber shell that breaks with a straight line of glitter stars, usually gold or orange fire dust (charcoal and aluminum). After the wide spread of stars, they droop over and fall slowly by gravity almost all the way to the ground like fire dust rain with small white sparks in the reddish-orange fire dust trail. It's a very beautiful effect.

By Large caliber shell, how large...5" , 6" or larger?

Bigger the better. I've never gotten the point of people who put kamuro type stars in piddly little 3" shells. I'd say 8" minimum, with preferences toward 10 or 12".

I agree with Wilydog's decription, and that picture is not a Kamuro. It looks more like a crysanthemum to crackle.
