Hello everybody!

Please let me know how it is possible to get a professional fireworks license in Greece.

I'm trying for ages now,i've contacted my local authorities first without ever getting clear answers. Then i sent emails in the competent ministries and again i've been ignored....I'm in despair!I'm trying to be legal and possibly make my favorite hobby a profession.

Please if anyone can help or advise me it will make a big difference in my life.

Thank you in advance.

Hectoir.

I would talk to a local display company & see if you can apprentice with them...I have looked online and see that NANOS seems to be a large display company in Greece. Good luck in your venture.

Hello PyroJoeNEPA and thank you very much for your response.

Yes indeed NANOS is the most famous display company in Greece.I have asked them few years ago but they didn't answer.I have asked other companies too but the same.I don't know why they keep this as a top secret...

Anyway...I'll try again to contact with the companies and i'll see.

Thanks again
Hectoir

The keep it a secret because they are afraid you might learn too much and become competition for them. I wish I knew more about Greece and pyrotechnics. I suggest instead of asking these professional companies how to get licensed. Offer to work a few display to help as labor. Then you can at least network with some of the workers. Are you at least able to purchase the equivalent of Consumer Fireworks ?

Hello Dave.I am glad to talk with you!

You have so right about the competition.Greece is a small country and there aren't to many display companies.I think it's a great idea offer to work for some displays and talk direct with the workers in the field.

Yes here in Greece you can purchase consumer fireworks.(if i understand correctly what you ask)

Thank you very much

Glad to see a fellow Greek on here! Yasou hectoir!! We carry on the Greek tradition here every Easter, except we don't fire the rockets at the neighboring church, but we do light up the sky over my field!! Anyway, good luck over there! Keep us posted on your progress!
