OK, here's my 2 cents worth. I like the formulas for star comp by Robert Veline. I have made this extensively, modified to get a great white, (Red, White, & Blue) left out the dextrin and used acetone to bind with all that parlon. Guess what? A fast and dependable, repeatable, and uncomplicated method for making cut star. It's espescially good for beginners this way.

You can bind wit the Dex, and roll them, skip the dex and use SGRS at 2-4 %. Play with it. this is a comp that lends itself well to customizing, and I think all of us american guy like to customize, right?

Mix it up and play with it!

honestly if I'm too lazy to go get a "good" silver comp I just take standard TigerTail comp
and add 14% TI sponge. It does not need priming and makes a very bright silver.

I really like spider stars. Ofca's are my go to, but I've been liking the one Mike Swisher gives out every so often with lampblack, mostly because you don't need to mill it.
