La Rosa puts some great daytime displays. The night time shows are certainly something to witness in person especially San Severo.

U gents keep in mind that Rapallo is in northen Italy, that means spherical shells not exeeding 8 inch and cilinders not exeeding 6 inch.
The budget is rather high during this festival so the shows are top notch but i miss the south italian crazyness of large calibres.

I do apologize for asking a bit of an unrelated question, but the fact that the shells don't actually seem to be ignited on the way up has always left me wondering just how it's done. I assume there is no actual explosive lift used in propelling them upwards? I did hear that Disney land used pneuomatic systems for launching their shells, but I think they were amongst the first in the world to do so?

But I have to say, smoke cakes are quite pretty :) Shame they are quite a bit more costly than regular cakes.
