My name is Dave, and every year I put on a little show for 4th of July… I finale board etc. Anyway, I'm interested in looking at taking my little hobby to the next level, and am hoping to talk with some like minded people. Nothing big…. (well… not yet anyway) Just… you know…. whatever the next phase is in the hobby. Perhaps a license… :D

Thanks! I saw Dave had a video about an ATF type 54 license, but it was 4 years old. Is the info/his dvd packet still good? Do you guys recommend it?

I baught the dvd package a few months ago. And now I have my a.t.f license. I still works. It was a good buy. It led me in the right direction cleared up alota paperwork questions. Dont just jump into this tho. Find a club or get yourself to some 1.3 shoots. Get yourself familiar. Good luck

Hey rtx, thanks for the info. Are you suggesting hold off on the license til I find a group?

I'm on the east side if the state, near Pottstown. A little over an hour north west of Philly. (If I had the road to myself that is) any groups in the area you know of?

Pa Pyro Artists & the Crackerjacks are both very active clubs in your area.
If you want more info, send me a PM.

Im saying: as for all fireworks 1.3 fireworks can be very dangerous. If you dont know what your doing. Youll be able to buy such things as 10 or 12 inch shells With your a.t.f llicense. Its just suggested that you get ur self some training and knowledge about 1.3 product, get yourself shooting some products ect... I would take PyroJoeNEPA idea. Hit him up about a local club. Its the best way plus its a ton of fun. I went to several 1.3 shoots before I got mine. Plus P.A has a lot to offer for clubs and if you do get your license P.A has many 1.3 vendors. Check out daves sponsors.. pa is actually a fireworks friendly state .. best wishes...

That sounds like a good course of action to take. I'm going to take some time tonight, and look into those clubs, and go from there. Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated!
