This is the last part of my finale this year. The shells will end the show after the cake boards in my finale, all canister shells in these racks.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=205023726188915&set=a.205023706188917.51540.100000438676347&theater

yeah, the computer I was using died on me before I could get the rest on here. Its right at 118 shells, so a little more than a case of shells. I plan letting them rip right after the last shot on my finale board. Going to also use this same configuration at my wedding in October.

Just checking them out. Those must weigh a few lb's... LOL..

yeah the fiberglass racks don't weigh much but the bigger 30 shot with hdpe does. I got a pallet from a local hardware store and used the wood from that on the rails, then ripped some 2x4's to 2/38 wide. Just finished that rack yesterday, it weighs about 70-80 lbs, But I did put handles on it so its easier carry. I have a few more racks I am going to use but most of the body of my show is going to be cakes, the opener is going to be about five cakes and a twenty shot rack.

Very cool. I only use racks for filler. I like using cakes for the finale now more than racks

I used to do that, but I hate not having full control over the ending, I can't stand a cake that won't stop after the finale is over, with shells I can control the speed and intensity and it will end exactly how I want it, it does take some lugging around racks, but it is worth it. I still use cakes in the finale just not the last part of it.

I use ones I know the timing of them. I have had that happen

i had the worst thing happen last 4th with cakes in a finale, i added a saturn missile battery for noise during the finale, and the damned thing kept going a solid minute after the finale had stopped. all shells no cakes from now on.

i hate missile batteries anymore...they aren't what they use to be.

I fused the Hurt Locker assort and a case each of Blond Joke, Matrix Pyro, and Evils Domain in that order.

For our finale this year we used one cake (a zipper), about 120 canister shells that I timed to start out slowly and go fast and faster, a missile battery and six "Orion's Eye" spinners. The idea was to have the spinners start things out along with the zipper cake, and then when the cake ended and the spinners were still in progress, the missile battery and the mortars would start.

The spinners were a bit of a disappointment as a couple of them didn't spin like they were supposed to, but we have a plan to fix that for next year. As for the missile battery, I guess it started right when the cake ended as planned, but I was so busy watching the mortars go up (and they were so loud) that I didn't even notice the missile battery. I guess the solution is more missile batteries for next year.

I like having the mortar shells at the end due to the big breaks and the racket they make. I was in awe of how well it went overall.
