Dragons Breath Again

Here are a few unlisted videos.
This first one is from the Pyrotechnic Guild International 2012 and the making of Dragons Breath. As you will hear he is not so anxious to tell us about the lift charge, it is made of black powder and some sort of epoxy glue.

Now along comes another way to make this using gasoline and a small bottle. The person in this video is a member of the forums so I am hoping he can give us some details of how this done. He took the class at the PGI convention.

Below is a question from my YouTube channel about the gasoline fireballs. Can someone answer it, my daughter took the class but of course can not find the paper. Is the length of the pipe crucial?

I have viewed your "2013 Fireworks on the Farm" video, and I am wondering if you could tell me how tall the 4" pipe is for the gas fireball setup. Looking at the video I think that the pipe is maybe 7 or 8 inches tall. Since your daughter had attended the PGI seminar, she would probably know how critical the length of the pipe would be. Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

For the 4" fireball the pipe is 6" tall. fill with 2" of water then 4" of gas.

I have the information for these fireballs now. In case anyone is wondering about the bottles.
P E T bottles Polyethylene Terephthalate (Thermoplastic polymer resin) Can last for days in gasoline. I see these are for sale on eBay. Maybe Holmes69 can tell us where he purchased his bottles.

Here it is, all the way from Cincinnati Ohio. One of my YouTube subscribers made and gave it to me at Kellner's I was impressed with the little weld mark he made at the two inch level so I always know where to level to water. I know I have the formula for the black powder/titanium for the little extra spark but I can not find it. Can someone post it. I think I use this at my Collier Sportsman display this year to warm things up a bit.

what's kind of gazoline?? because in my country we have 3 sorts: Without lead 95/98 or Diesel

I know you are from France so let me try to explain. Here is United States there are typically three choices in gasoline. Note the number in the yellow box 87 , 89, 91 . The higher the number the more the gasoline is resistant to engine knock. Most cars in United States are designed to run on 87. The higher the number the more expensive the gasoline. Any type of gasoline in USA will work in this pyro effect.

Then there is Diesel fuel, this is used in large truck mostly.

Occasionally in United States you may find a fuel called E-85. Most new cars are designed to run on this fuel also. E-85 is 85% corn alcohol or the same alcohol people drink. They add 15% gasoline to this mixture to deter people drinking it. It does not carry the same energy as 100% gasoline and gets less miles per gallon.

In france we have 95 and 98 octane rating... It is mandatory by the law for preserve the wild

I am going to bring this thread back to post my Gasoline Fire Mine video failure. The first part of this threads has pictures of how the bottom of the mine should look allowing easy threading of the wire for the bottle.

ok so I tried but not sure were I went wrong. Lift charge lifted and blew gas in a nice radius ( killed 100 foot circle of grass). Did not light gas. Did not even see fireball from mortar at all just water and gas spray. Powder used ffg 7.5 oz, 8 inch mortar, 5 inches water approx 3 gal gas.
