I have a question for those experienced at making fireworks. At 1:10 in this video, you will see the fireworks adding silver powder to the shell. Is this a flash composition?

Great video by the way

I am not experienced at making fireworks butt i do know lots of southern european shell builders use a flash booster in there small(6") spherical shells.

It's a flash booster indeed, to increase the break strength/power. Gives the stars that extra push.
If you put the flash in a small bag, and put this in the center of the break, then you have a so called flash bag.

You actually want the slow flash to mix with your rice hulls(burst charge). -325 mesh Al and Kno3 is usually used, and it is more commonly used/needed in smaller shells. Also the smaller the shell is the more booster one can use. Awesome vid BTW!
