Was wondering if there is a general rule people use for choosing to go with a show or stop it due to wind factor?

Well depending on the dryness is how I judge stopping because of wind . You also have to think 25mph winds will take a nice break and make it sloppy so I would hold off anything over 15-20 . That's just me I like to enjoy the bursts not watch them blow away real quick . I would rather it rained then be really windy .

Do some "wind tests" before the show.

We had a NYE show one time several years ago where the sustained winds were 15-20, and gusts 25-35, thought for sure we were going to have to cancel show. then winds finally died down by 11 pm and by 11:45, not too bad. We did a couple test fire shots then - seemed to be ok, then let er rip midnight. We had our car next to a parking garage a little over 200 yd away - oh my what a mess - debris all over. Had to clean all that crap up next day and really a mess on the parking garage roof! Garage owner was not happy! Winds must have been stronger on the upper levels than they were on the lower levels....

That's excellent ! You won't have any problems with that . After all you do want a little breeze to clear the smoke .

I use 15 mph as the limiting factor. Any surface wind higher than that just increases the debris field and decreases the safety factor

Show wen well. Except the last 10 minutes of setup it started to snow with the winds at about 10 mph..lol... Show went well, Got to use the 2 new 32 cue firing systems I purchased from one of the advertisers now. www.firingsystems.us Used e-match on class b items and tried out the falcon igniters they sell with the 32 cue system on the consumer items. Due to the weather I did not get time to set the camera up though, Dissapointed in that
