Thank you please to meet you.

are you maltese ? (Grazzi)

Nope, I'm Dutch. I have a thing with languages, however :)
Been to Malta twice (2005+2009) and still remember some typical sayings.

HI Every one

I would like to thank you for your reply's

To tell you the truth, there is a standard recipe just for the ingredients which we use to make the explosion the filling of the cylinder and the black powder probably we use the same one as you do.
but the rest each and every one here in Malta has his own recipe for how to delay the sound

we do our own recipe for the Black power mix with other ingredients to create the delay of the crackers in side the shall in Malta we call it (Murzjar)

As you can see some of my work is all based on timing they look difficult to make but they are not as you think, The Multishell break the colors ones we use the same recipe as you use for to make the colors
but as i always said the delay of that moment when the fuse burn and they blow in the skie with
different sound

the trick in (Beraq) is the timing because we love here in malta that we can make different sounds because and different timing, also it concern on the thick of the small cylinder tube it is very important the thickness and the size of it.

you can do even these Chinese crackers with timing, I wish i know better English to write
so that i will explain it to you.

Let me give you a small idea i have seen some VIDS yesterday here on this site how they are doing some Multi shells with Rockets, and I am seeing that they are using fuse to delay the moment, we just use
our own fuse we do them from Blackpowder mixed with other ingredients to make the timing how we like

I will try to find some VIDS and sites that will explain much better if some one decide to come to Malta
i will take down to our factory and I will explain much better you will see us how we do it

Also I have seen in some VIDs that you use a lot of machinery, we use our hands very rare to find a machine, an other thing I have notice you use a lot of plastics we use cartoons every thing counts

may be some day we can talk on skype

Hi Guys

It's me again from Malta.

Today I am going to start posting some Pictures to explain how we do the (Beraq)
Please don't ask me for recipe, but I will try to help you guys so that by next Year on 4th July
or for those who are non USA to your next Feast, you may introduce some nice real exiting Fireworks

In this Picture these are the Beraq which are being dry in the Sun

http://i779.photobucket.com/albums/yy80/la-valletta/BERAQ.jpg

Now look very closely to see how we make them after we fill them up we make a small hole
and here is the trick of all tricks it depends of the thickness of the roll how much wide is the whole
because it has to be filled up with the delay mixture I hope this will explain a bit what is (Murzjatura)

(plural: Beraq)

Beraq typical Maltese bombs, which are in Malta in very large numbers of different pop records (mostly flash composition, as well as a dark pop, colored flash bang, etc) in cylindrical bombs loaded application.

They are made in various calibers. For the most common caliber (25 x 37mm, see photo), a 30mm wide thin piece of cardboard rolled into a cylinder, fixed with a layer of paper and paste, filled with movement, the open end fed folded, tied to the body then with a thin rope and paste coated. After drying, stabbed with a pointed awl about 2mm in diameter with a touch hole in the middle of Berqa. This touch-hole is then smeared with a spatula with a delay set-dough of flour powder and binder, and water and finally dipped into a fine grain powder as igniter. Maltese fireworks create masterpieces with this primitive method 10ths to 100ths of a second accuracy in series production, for example, for the bomb Beraq Pront (simultaneous ring flash) is necessary.

Although I already knew this, I think a lot of people (as I still do) will love reading all the info you gave.

By the way...did you know the last picture (with the open model of a shell) was actually made by me in Mosta. I was surprised to see it pop-up. Hahaha.

Hi VAVOOM

Good to know that.

My idea is to make every one aware of what BERAQ is, and they will understand our fireworks how it works
I was search a lot trying to find suitable pictures to explain the process.

I am going to write to Dave if it is possible, this is my idea. If we will try to organize for next year a Seminar on fireworks for all the users on this Forums at PYRO talk I will do all my best if they wish to do it here in Malta we shall try to do it when the Malta international festival or at this time of the year were
the biggest Maltese Fireworks are on 15 August

Next week on Tuesday night Malta will be one big fireworks display by the way Qrendi they are not going to do nothing because one of the works died last month suffering from high burns.
