Well, Now that I have my Type 54 license. I was wondering how much more effective are the ematch than a consumer igniter.

I have a wireless firing system, but it uses AA batteries. Would that be enough to set off ematch like it does for the igniters?

Does the Igniter give off a lot less BTU than the Ematch?

Just a few things I am trying to figure out before maybe switching to Ematch

An E-match requires about 1/2 the voltage and amps as a talon. Talons draw considerably more juice than a match. I like the fire that an e-match throws when you pop one with the shrowd on. I like e-matches over talons, but use both all the time. I have found that a talon with a piece of 3" grey visco on it is almost as fast as an e-match. Congrats on your 54!

Thanks for replying Catfish. I did some experimenting today with them. Found I like the grey visco with the igniter. Didnt know about the voltage difference. So thanks for that
